At PULSE@MassChallenge Finale, Medumo announces strategic collaboration with Partners HealthCare to scale digital care navigation pathways

Digital health collaboration between Medumo and Partners HealthCare enabled by support from the Commonwealth’s digital health innovation hub

Medumo, a leading patient navigation platform, announced a new strategic collaboration with Partners HealthCare at the second annual PULSE@MassChallenge Finale. This relationship will scale Medumo digital care navigation pathways (CareTours™) in care access, patient encounter preparation and follow-up, and many other clinical or administrative areas across Partners institutions. Medumo CareTours™ use multilingual SMS, email, and web-based applications to automate delivery of precisely timed instructions and patient risk assessment through every stage of a care encounter, improving clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.

One of only three companies selected globally to participate in the PULSE@MassChallenge 2017 inaugural program and 2018 second annual program, Medumo was matched with both Brigham Health and Massachusetts General Hospital to pilot its digital health solution. These collaborations rapidly produced positive results, enhancing patient experience and satisfaction, reducing no-show and late cancellations, and improving care outcomes.

In a segment written by Brigham Health, a patient shared her experience preparing for a colonoscopy through a program that utilized Medumo technology: “All I had to do was read the texts, I wasn’t second-guessing myself, because the reminders came right when I needed them. In the follow-up procedure, they were able to remove 19 non-malignant polyps—because I was well informed and ready from the start.”

“As a Pulse@MassChallenge Champion, we continue to be committed to more easily and effectively collaborating with promising digital health startups through programs like theBrigham Care Redesign Incubator and Startup Program (BCRISP) and the Brigham Digital Innovation Hub (iHub). Our aim is to rapidly integrate, pilot, deploy and evaluate the right solutions to effectively improve care delivery. We are delighted to announce this collaboration and look forward to expanding this capability across Brigham Health,” said Karl Laskowski, MD, MBA, Associate Medical Director of the Brigham and Women’s Physicians Organization and clinical lead for the Brigham Health Medumo collaboration.
